As we have all watched, participated, and experienced the horrifying political and infuriatingly lawful changes over the past several years it is easy to become numb. The gall of those with power to take away what should be inalienable rights in this country is unchecked. The misogyny, abuse, and unacknowledged biases in our culture are not just a thread but a noose that runs through every interaction every woman has in this country daily. David has watched me navigate what it is to be a woman with new eyes these past several years as I not only lose rights yearly but as I enter peri-menopause. He witnessed as my concerns and needs were ignored and talked down to, as the medical community belittled me. When physicians would recommend major surgery instead of offering simple effective remedies. My experiences in the business world have also been in full view for him and I don’t think he truly understood many of my actions until he began to look at my behavior through the lens of patriarchy. It has been a journey for him. And, the Bad Bunny series was born of his observations, frustrations, and empathy. I hope you find your inner bad bunny and start to call those in power to heel.
