This abstract landscape painting reminds me of early spring by our garden ponds near Lake Charlevoix. This is #3 of 3 in this trilogy of contemporary painting series. For a small 9”x12” modern painting it presents a lot of emotion. I love the hint of frost expressed on the leaf like forms. Contemporary acrylic painting is one of my favorite methods to express my artistic visions of lakes, ponds, mountains and nature. These paintings would be a great way to curate an art collection of work created at the same time.

This 8x10 inch painting packs a lot of abstract landscape into a small area! Part of a newer series of paintings called “At Ponds Edge”. Working with a different color pallet lately has yielded some really neat works of art that I am thrilled to be sharing with you!

Living so close to Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan it inspires my abstract paintings in ways I am always surprised by. I am grateful for what our natural environment provides us. This 18”x24” acrylic on canvas painting reminds me of the hikes along the nearby trails and the discovery of the spiral form on many levels of nature, it certainly has become part of our intrinsic vernacular as humans.

I am constantly amazed by nature and how we interact with it. In this painting, I explore the spirals so common in nature that it remains in our collect vernacular. Once a week we take my mom grocery shopping. She likes to do it on her own but it takes a while and we can't leave the area so I have been hanging out at the coffee shop in the store with a small watercolor kit.
