Painting on Board With Acrylic Paints

Welcome to Saturday abstract paint with me! I am David Austin and I am happy to see you today on my regular Saturday morning painting with how to tips and techniques. It all starts with the preparation of a 21”x48” board with gesso and acrylics with charcoal worked into the wet paint. The next day starts with the charcoal on the dry prepped surface then the fun really starts using wet on wet techniques, scraping, brush washes and pallet knives! I am happy to share this journey into my creative process with you. I feel very fortunate to have a studio with a big window, even though it is really tight. I am so grateful for the views to my gardens and Lake Charlevoix beyond. I am also blessed with a supportive family in my art work. Although being a professional artist is rarely easy, I can’t imagine anymore doing anything else!
